Blogging is something I have let get past me. What better way to start then from the beginning of our own journey to how we got to where we are at today.
Dear diary, Sept 2013:
(Espy) I went out to play adult kickball today for a friend at work it was a lot of fun. There was some guy there who stood out to me, he really lightened up some tense moments, and has some great humor. I wonder if he is a youth pastor.
(Eric) I saw a girl at kickball this evening, there was just something about her. I could tell she has an amazing heart. I already wonder if she is the one.
September-November:
I have wondered who that guy is off and on. Finally found out his name is Eric and he is not a youth pastor, but definitely has a heart for people. I can tell he is trustworthy.
I have seen that girl off and on at kickball these past couple months, yet we really have not gotten to talk. She said her name is Esperanza, yet people call her Espy. Esperanza…-I like that.
November:
At the end of the last kickball game of the season, Eric asked for my number…crazy thing is I gave it to him, without question. Who is this guy? There really is something about him that stands out.
Our last kickball game was this evening and I asked Espy for her number, she said yes!
December – February 2014:
School and work has been keeping me busy, I look forward to some down time. Maybe I’ll be able to play kickball again this Spring. I wonder if Eric will be there? Hmm I just realized he never contacted me.
I have not tried to contact her, because I am trying to learn to trust God. I have prayed about her off and on still wondering if she’s the one. Hopefully I’ll see her in March at Spring Kickball.
March:
Eric called, kinda surprised me. He is playing volleyball and asked if I wanted to join, but I am already doing kickball. He showed up to a game! I can tell he has a great heart! I asked him if he would come to a BBQ we were doing for a church starting up.
I called Espy today asking if she was playing kickball, because I had decided to play volleyball instead. Of course I invited her to volleyball. I went to watch her and some friends play kickball. She invited me to a BBQ, which was promoting a new church plant, sounds interesting.
April:
So I kinda messed up, I wanted Eric to hear about the new church starting, but I told him the wrong time, so he showed up for the end part….my bad. The girls asked where I met this guy, because he was pretty awesome. I was glad he showed up, but I left shortly after so I didn’t get to spend much time with him.
I went to the BBQ, yet she left 30minutes after I arrived. She accidentally told me the wrong time.
April – June:
Travel time for school kicked into full gear, but in spare time Eric and I would send a message here and there.
Once again our communication was spotty, because we were both traveling.
June:
Graduation is coming up. My family won’t be there. I’m not really sure who to invite. I know Eric has invited me to hang out, but I have never had the time. Call me crazy, but maybe he would like to come and I could get to see him outside of kickball for once.
Espy invited me to her graduation. I asked the opinion of two friends and they both asked me, is she worth it? I went to her graduation, and after hearing all the awesome things people were saying about her I knew my first impression of her was correct.
July 4th:
I just got back from kids camp in Kansas. A few people asked me if I wanted to head to Lee’s Summit for fireworks, but I remembered Eric invited me to a BBQ if I was free. I was hesitant, but I told myself if he text me I would go so I made the evening free in hopes of a call. Guess what he did! I went not knowing what I was in for. Let’s just say I had the best night ever and got to meet some great people. It felt like I was at my family reunion. Who is this guy? He kinda seems too good to be true.
I invited her to spend the holiday with family and she said yes. We had a great time meeting people, eating, playing volleyball, and shooting fireworks.
July 5th:
His family must have liked me because I got invited to his nephews birthday party. We went paint balling. Wasn’t turning that down, plus I needed to figure out this guy. He has such a humble and loving heart. I think he could be the one.
She went with me to my nephew’s birthday party to play paintball. Fireworks, paintball, and an amazing heart, I’m keeping this girl!
